Respirometer chamber design is critical for small-animal work. By "small animal" we at Sable Systems mean anything from a single Drosophila to a rat. Larger animals are often measured using masks or custom chambers and, indeed, some of our customers are using unusual chambers to measure the metabolic rates of creatures up to killer whales in size.
