MA-10 Overview Print

Our MA-10 methane analyzer is ideal for constant volume/stop-flow and flow-through respirometry of methane-producing organisms. With a differential optical path, an electrically modulated IR source, and the same high quality optical bench as our CA-10a CO2 analyzer, it builds on our existing expertise in infrared gas analysis technology.

Barometric pressure compensation is standard. Direct modulation of the infrared source translates to greater ruggedness and reliability versus chopper-based CO2 analyzers. The optical bench is differential (dual-wavelength), reducing drift and practically eliminating sensitivity to water vapor. The design of our optical bench is proprietary, using a low volume, gold over nickel plated optical path and the highest quality machining, with premium emitter, differential detector and optical filtration components.

All of the instrument's functions are accessed via high quality rotary encoders. We have paid particular attention to making their operation as intuitive and flexible as possible. The MA-10 is extremely easy to operate. All adjustments and settings are permanently retained in the absence of power, and thanks to the flexibility of the system, we have increased the number of user settings available for many key features. Powerable from uncritical 11 - 16VDC, the MA-10 methane analyzer is supplied with a universal 12VDC power source.

The MA-10 CH4 analyzer is easily interfaced to any data acquisition system or data-logger. Eleven ranges of voltage proportional to carbon dioxide concentration or partial pressure, plus multi-range outputs proportional to barometric pressure and optical path temperature, are available at the rear panel from high-quality BNC connectors. A serial output is standard. You can easily interface the MA-10 to any data acquisition system.
