 The ROXY-1™ is a stand-alone universal controller for any gas - oxygen, CO2, water vapor, and so on. Depending on how you configure it, the patent-pending ROXY-1 can function as an oxygen controller/O2 regulator (gas phase or aquatic), a CO2 controller, a water vapor controller, or even a pressure controller. For oxygen control, it uses a standard O2 fuel cell sensor. This is supplied with the unit if oxygen regulation is the desired application. To regulate other variables, you supply a sensor or analyzer that measures the variable you want to control.
For maximum flexibility, the ROXY-1 universal regulator can take practically any voltage input from a sensor or analyzer, from a few millivolts to over 5V. It automatically regulates its input gain to yield the best possible signal. Operation is simple. You enter a setpoint, and the ROXY-1 universal controller pulses the appropriate gas (which you supply) into the controlled environment until the setpoint is reached. For example, when controlling oxygen at (say) 10%, it pulses nitrogen into the chamber being regulated. Only enough to reach the user-defined setpoint is added - no more and no less - keeping tank gas use to an absolute minimum. Sophisticated PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control is used, which guarantees practically zero overshoot or undershoot, and compensates for pressure variations in the gas line. It's as close to perfect control as you can get.
The ROXY-1 universal regulator monitors its internal workings continuously and sounds an alarm if it detects any problems. It also monitors the pressure of the inlet gas line and sounds an alarm if it falls below a user-definable limit, alerting the user to change gas tanks - a rare event because of the ROXY-1's efficient regulation.
The ROXY-1 universal regulator is also computer-controllable for maximum flexibility. In many applications, it is a superior alternative to a conventional two-part gas mixing system. For research or R&D applications involving generation of controlled atmospheres, the ROXY-1 universal controller is a uniquely versatile and useful tool.
