The Sable Systems SS-3 subsampler is designed for pushing or pulling a gas stream through one or more gas analyzers. Usually this sample gas stream is sub-sampled from a source with a higher flow rate. However, the SS-3 subsampler can also provide the sole source of flow for smaller systems. The SS-3 subsampler unites a pump, needle valve and linearized mass flow meter of the highest quality into a tough, compact, research-grade instrument that will give years of service. It is equally at home in the laboratory or the field, and its individual instruments can be used alone or in any combination. The SS-3 subsampler's linearized mass flow meter covers the range from 0 to 2000 ml/minute. The flow rate is displayed on the SS-3's two-line alphanumeric readout. The SS-3's diaphragm pump is a high quality, quiet unit that is fully adjustable over a wide range using premium PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) that minimizes power consumption and diaphragm wear, and lengthens the life of the pump motor. All of the instrument's functions are accessed via high quality rotary encoders. We have paid particular attention to making their operation as intuitive and flexible as possible. The SS-3 is extremely easy to operate. All adjustments and settings are permanently retained in the absence of power. Powerable from uncritical 11 - 16VDC, the SS-3 subsampler is supplied with a universal 12VDC power source. The SS-3 subsampler is easily interfaced to any data acquisition system or data-logger. Eight ranges of voltage proportional to mass flow rate are available on the front panel from a high-quality BNC connector. A serial output is standard.
