The Sable Systems UI-2 is a versatile, fully research-grade data acquisition interface that connects to a serial port or a USB to serial converter on any desktop or laptop computer. Primarily designed to be used with Sable Systems' flagship data acquisition and analysis program, ExpeData, its open protocol allows it to be used with other programs, such as LabView (Mac/PC) or WartHog (Mac).

The UI-2 has eight high resolution voltage inputs covering the range of -5.12V to +5.12V at 16 bits resolution (1 part in 65536). The accuracy of these inputs is guaranteed better than 0.05%, confirmed by a NIST-traceable calibration. It also has four additional temperature inputs (for use with the Sable Systems TC100 thermistor probe), with an accuracy of 0.2C and a resolution of 0.001 C. Any of these four channels can be told to measure resistance (10 ohms - 10 megohms) or voltage (0 - 5.12V) instead.

Other features include eight digital outputs for instrument control; a 16-bit digital counter; two channels of voltage output (0 - 5V, 12 bits resolution); a pulse width modulation output; and an accessory voltage input. The UI-2 data acquisition interface is powered by uncritical 7 - 18VDC (adapter supplied).

The UI-2 has been in stable production for several years and has proved to be an invaluable tool in hundreds of research laboratories world-wide.
