Congratulations to Dr. Katheryn Wilsterman, 2025 George A. Bartholomew Award Winner!

Dr. Marshall McCue, PhD, Sable Systems International, congratulates Dr. Kathryn Wilsterman on being named the 2025 recipient of the George A. Bartholomew Award at the SICB meeting.

Sable Systems International congratulates Dr. Kathryn Wilsterman, recipient of the 2025 George A. Bartholomew Award. This prestigious award annually recognizes a young investigator for distinguished contributions to comparative physiology and biochemistry or to related fields of functional and integrative biology. The award was presented to Dr. Wilsterman at the 2025 Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) Meeting. Sable Systems is the proud sponsor of the award.

Dr. Wilsterman is Assistant Professor, Department of Biology at Colorado State University, Fort Collins. The Wilsterman Lab is particularly interested in the physiology that constrains reproductive output and the mechanisms that are responsible for variation in reproductive traits among and within species. Dr. Wilsterman’s team combines neuroendocrinology, cell biology, evolutionary physiology, and a functional genomics approach for both in-vivo and in-vitro systems to identify mechanisms underlying ecologically relevant phenotypic variation.

The award provided Dr. Wilsterman the opportunity to present her outstanding research at the SICB conference.  Her presentation – “A missing piece of the whole: reproductive traits and local adaptation” – was given on Monday, January 6, 2025.
