Advanced Analysis of Promethion Data with Open Source Tools

The course will provide metabolism researchers with the analytical and reporting skills needed to turn raw experimental measurements into clear metabolic and behavioral insights. Participants will learn to master best practices in data analysis, visualization and data reporting. A focus will be on leveraging existing Open Source tools to gain deeper insight into the data while also automating analysis workflows to enhance the reproducibility of the results. 

Hands On

Participants will work through a series of realistic exercise scenarios utilizing the R programming language including various recommended add-on packages to execute analyses of real world Promethion data. Several exercises will showcase modern software engineering practices for reproducibility, version control and automation. 

Cost

$2500 for the main course days, plus $750 for the optional preparation day ($3250 total). Fees include all course materials, lunches, one-on-one data analysis, review and discussion with our inhouse experts, a signed copy of Dr. Lighton’s book, and many extras (fees covered if under service contract). 

Course Materials

All needed materials to successfully participate in the course will be provided. Additionally, we will circulate setup instructions prior to the course to prepare your own laptops if you want to use them instead. We highly encourage participants to bring additional data sets to repeat the analyses on. 

Optional Preparation Day

We are offering an optional bonus day prior to the course for participants that want a general introduction to the R programming environment or help preparing their computers.
