We wrote the book on Respirometry and are passionate about sharing our expertise with you.
Courses and Conferences Calendar

The course teaches participants how to use indirect calorimetry in metabolic screening. We will apply techniques for measuring real-time O2 consumption, CO2 production and water vapor loss for laboratory rodents. Measurement systems also include food & water intake, body mass monitoring, wheel running and voluntary activity. Data analysis is a significant focus.

This course teaches participants how to measure metabolic rates using indirect calorimetry. We will apply techniques for measuring real-time O2 consumption, CO2 production and water vapor loss for subjects ranging from small invertebrates to large mammals. Participants can work with single animal and high through-put systems in both open-flow and stop-flow.

The respirometry course – held at the “Institut für Ernährungsmedizin in Stuttgart-Hohenheim, Germany” – teaches participants how to measure metabolic rates in humans using whole room indirect calorimetry.
The course will e.g. cover functional requirements of calorimetry systems, system validation and data analysis. Participants will have access to a state-of-the-art room calorimetry for practical work.
Accommodation and meals in Stuttgart are not covered by registration fees. The course is limited to 10 attendants.
