Description
Web-based system interface enables 24/7 access to real-time data
The new Promethion IM3 Interface Module brings Promethion Core capabilities to your standard Promethion system, most notably the ability to network multiple systems together to conduct simultaneous studies with centralized data processing. The IM3 enables access to real-time Promethion animal data from permitted desktop or mobile devices via Sable’s browser-based data management application. This allows you to view real-time data and control operation from your laptop, cell phone or tablet. The unit can also be hardwired to a PC through an ethernet cable for the most secure data transfer.
Above: the user can view specific cages and data, making comparisons easy to visualize. In this screen, the user has chosen to compare VO2 in cages 1 and 3 only.
IM3 Web Interface Software
The IM3 web interface software provides control and recording over all operation of Promethion Core components and peripheral devices, including:
- Flow Generators
- Gas Analyzers
- Cage Sensors
- Environmental Sensors
- Respirometry Treadmill
- Group-Housed Caging Systems
- Stable Isotope Analyzer
The web interface allows remote access to the real-time data for more convenient and regular animal welfare checks without the need to enter the room or disturb experiments during the recording process. Gas calibration can be initiated through this interface as well. The IM3 interface allows you to quickly start a recording, review real-time data, calibrate the system and transfer data files.
Above: real-time recordings can be viewed within the IM3 platform while an experiment is in progress or downloaded directly from the IM3 as a .csv or .exp file once a recording is complete. Temporal resolution can also be adjusted within the IM3 viewing window maximizing flexibility with short and long-term studies. Patterns of activity that correlate with circadian cycles (i.e. lights on/off) are readily detectable with the gray and white columns in the graphical display.
IM3 Networking and Interfaces
The IM3 includes multiple data ports to provide the highest level of networking available in metabolic and behavioral measurement. Access by approved web enabled devices running the IM3 interface software is obtained through the ethernet port. SableCAN ports provide the interface to Sable gas analyzers, flow controllers, environmental sensors, and individual cage components such as beam breaks, mass measurement devices and wheel measurements. A single IM3 unit controls and stores the data from up to 16 cages simultaneously.
IM3 Data Acquisition
With 128GB of memory available, there is enough space to hold over three years of study data from a fully loaded 16 cage experiment. The IM3 web interface is integrated with our Sable data acquisition software package to provide unsurpassed data collection in real time. A single license of two separate programs—one for data acquisition and another for analysis—can be run on multiple separate computers, enabling a technician to run a test while an investigator analyzes another data set, reducing expenses associated with software licensing and simplifying use, upgrades and updates. The data on the IM3 can be downloaded and imported into Promethion data analysis software for further analysis and report.
