Sable Drosophila metabolic measurement systems are custom-configured with the right equipment for your needs, with capability to measure up to 7 flies in rapid succession. Not pictured: BL-2 Baselining Unit and Li7000 Carbon Dioxide Analyzer.

Description

Depending on the method used, Sable Drosophila metabolic screening systems are capable of measuring the metabolic rates of small groups of Drosophila, or even of individual Drosophila in real time. This unique capability provides a powerful tool for biomedical and basic research requiring metabolic data. Real-time metabolic data on individual flies preserves vital information on inter-individual variability, increasing the power of statistical tests.

Drosophila systems are custom-configured according to your requirements, with typical systems measuring from 7 to 15 flies in rapid succession. This can be increased according to your requirements. Metabolic rate is measured via CO2 production rate, which is a highly sensitive and widely accepted method. When monitoring respiratory quotients (RQ) is of interest, the FC-2 differential oxygen analyzer would be added to the system.

Preservation of Raw Data – Sable respirometry systems preserve study data in original form with high resolution, ensuring full traceability for GLP compliance or peer review. Other systems permanently alter your collected data, preventing study validation or re-analysis.

Water Vapor Compensation Option – Sable indirect calorimetry systems can measure water vapor dilution directly, eliminating sample gas drying and significantly increasing accuracy.

Push Mode Indirect Calorimetry – Provides maximum flexibility of system configuration to meet diverse research needs.
