The Sable Systems Pelt-Plate is a heating and cooling plate that is designed to be used with the Pelt-5 to create a temperature controlled surface.
The Pelt Plate regulates the temperature of its top, heavy duty, thermally-coated aluminum surface anywhere between -5 and +60 Â°C. It holds temperatures with an absolute accuracy of 0.2 Â°C, and to a constancy of 0.01 Â°C RMS or better. The solid-state heat pump moves heat into or out of the aluminum plate until its temperature precisely matches the setpoint.
Temperature adjustment is accomplished via a simple, versatile menu system. Actual plate temperature and the setpoint temperature are displayed on the Pelt Plate’s backlit digital display to the nearest 0.01 Â°C, and a voltage output corresponding to the chamber temperature is available for interfacing with a data acquisition system. Full temperature setpoint and reading information is available from the serial output. The Pelt Plate also features a versatile temperature step generator that can produce stepped temperature profiles with up to 200 steps – ideal for calibrations.
The Pelt Plate automatically calibrates itself against a lab-grade internal standard at turn-on. It also monitors the performance of the plate twice per second and immediately idles the plate in the unlikely event of a fault, safely and quickly returning it to room temperature.
